An industrial macro lens is a special type of lens used for macro photography, primarily for capturing extremely fine objects. In machine vision inspection systems, it is used for close-up observation of workpieces.

Features of Industrial Macro Lenses:

To correctly focus on subjects at a very close range, industrial macro lenses are typically designed to extend longer, allowing the optical center to be as far away from the sensor as possible. Additionally, the lens group design must focus on controlling distortion and chromatic aberration at close distances.

Most industrial macro lenses are fixed focal length, ranging from 50mm to 200mm, with a maximum aperture of generally f/2.8. The length of the focal length does not affect the magnification ratio.

Industrial macro lenses are designed for precise macro imaging, providing clear imaging at short working distances and featuring low distortion rates, comparable to telecentric lenses.

Applications of Industrial Macro Lenses:

  1. Plastic Part Inspection: Industrial macro lenses capture images of plastic parts and magnify them several times to more clearly and quickly detect defect points, discarding defective products to ensure product quality.

  2. Spring Appearance Inspection: A dual-lens design with a 90° angle between them is used to capture images from two directions simultaneously, obtaining high-quality images and completing the inspection with high precision.

  3. Barcode Recognition: The lens provides clear and efficient recognition of product barcodes, offering valuable information for production to take appropriate measures during the manufacturing process.

Industrial macro lenses are widely used in automated machine vision production, mainly for inspecting the appearance quality and subtle defects on high-speed moving products on manufacturing lines that are difficult to detect with the naked eye.
